💻 Giving LIV Students a Fighting Chance — One Stubborn Laptop at a Time
At Byte Fusion, we’re all about giving young people the best possible shot at success. So when we found an old laptop that still had some life left in it, we thought, “Perfect! Let’s get this machine ready for two freshly matriculated students at LIV Village who need online training to kick‑start their careers.”
Then we switched it on… and were greeted by Windows 7.
Shame. The poor thing tried its best, but Microsoft basically said, “Ag no, my bru — you’re too old for updates.”
We weren’t having that.
We tried Windows 10. Nope.
Tried installing Office. Nope.
Tried sweet‑talking it. Still nope.
But we’re Byte Fusion — we don’t give up that easily.
So when Google suggested giving Chrome OS a try, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. The install wasn’t exactly plug‑and‑play… more like plug‑and‑pray. But after a bit of perseverance (and maybe one or two motivational speeches to the laptop), we got it running.
And now?
This machine is smoother than a taxi on the N1 at 5am.
Next step: we’ll test it with a few locals. If it keeps performing like a champ, it’s heading straight to LIV Lanseria to help change lives — one reboot at a time.
Because at the end of the day, all it takes is a little determination, a little innovation, and a whole lot of heart.
